DUNFERMLINE, SCOTLAND -
"Vices" - the brooding, angular debut single by Scottish alternative rock band Metatone will be self-released on 4th September 2020.
Vices has been a long time coming, after years writing and recording, the band used the pandemic as a vehicle for putting songs out for people to hear. The entire EP was recorded by the band, and mixed and mastered by Michael Brennan Jr (Producer for Super Furry Animals, FOH engineer for Faith No More, The Jesus and Mary Chain) of Substation Studio during the Covid 19 pandemic in April and May 2020.
The band were incredibly fortunate to be asked by Michael to appear on Substation records' 'C19 House Music' compilation alongside tracks by members of Faith No More and The Jesus and Mary Chain.
The band have a close affinity to the Seattle scene, in particular Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam, Brad and Soundgarden.
All of the above set the tone for the melancholy, darkness of the music and lyrics counterbalanced with the visceral energy of emerging hope and light.
