DUNFERMLINE, SCOTLAND -
"Apocalypse" - the hook-laden second single by Scottish alternative rock band Metatone could not have been released at a better time, capturing a feeling of positivity and hope. The band follow a DIY ethos, self-releasing their music via online distribution.

Apocalypse followed debut single Vices, the band used the pandemic as a vehicle for putting songs out for people to hear. The entire EP was recorded by the band, and mixed and mastered by Michael Brennan Jr (Producer for Super Furry Animals, FOH engineer for Faith No More, The Jesus and Mary Chain) of Substation Studio during the Covid 19 pandemic in April and May 2020.

The band were incredibly fortunate to be asked by Michael to appear on Substation records' 'C19 House Music' compilation alongside tracks by members of Faith No More and The Jesus and Mary Chain.

The band have a close affinity to the Seattle scene, in particular Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam, Brad and Soundgarden.

about

Metatone Scotland, UK

Scottish veteran alt-rock/post-grunge band Metatone. A three-piece based either side of the Forth.

Sick of trying to be “alternative, just like everyone else,” Metatone are proud to be themselves, playing the music they love the way they want. Independent. Self-produced. The DIY ethos of true punk. Perfection is for tomorrow to worry about. “Today we need to say what needs to be said.”
